Donate Time by Volunteering
Volunteer tutors are always welcome at the Center. Our tutors work one-on-one and in small groups with children of all ages to help complete homework assignments and improve learning in math, reading and writing. Tutors are also welcome to join the children during gym time later in the day. Interested volunteer tutors can choose from either of the two Sue Duncan Children’s Center campuses based on the location most convenient for them. We facilitate our programming inside local elementary schools on Chicago’s south side:
- Original Oakland Campus
Jackie Robinson Elementary School
4225 S. Lake Park Avenue in Chicago
- Woodlawn Campus
John Fiske Elementary School
6020 S. Langley Avenue in Chicago
The Center is open from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday thru Friday during the school year. Please contact us regarding summer hours. For information on becoming a volunteer tutor at the Sue Duncan Children’s Center, call 773-942-2277 or email email@example.com.
