The Sue Duncan Children’s Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to educational enhancement and community building in inner-city Chicago. Our current enrollment is 110 children, grades pre-K through 12. We strive to nurture and support the whole child: our curriculum includes instruction in all core academic subjects as well as behavioral and social adjustment, athletics, art, music and ethics. Our Hot Food Program serves our children over a hundred nutritious meals every day.
Located in the Oakland neighborhood on the South Side, the SDCC is the proverbial village it takes to raise a child. We have built a large and vibrant community that fosters achievement and respect. Positive multi-year relationships between children and staff and low daily tutor-to-child ratios are the key factors that deepen our impact and empower us to transform children’s lives.
